David Bowie by Denis O’Regan. WHY do I love this image… because it is not him performing. It’s authentic and hints at the mystical (yeah maybe it reminds me of that magical moment in the Labyrinth- you remember that moment right?).

One of the first photographs I took with this little Leica camera that had three settings cloudy, sunny and dark. My grandfather had given it to me because of it’s non-practicality and uselessness. I loved the non-pictures that came out of it, even when I was 16. They had a ghostly quality to them that made them more about the feeling of the people and spaces then the actual detail of them. Here, Gretchen and Rebecca at Montvale Roller Skating Rink, sometime in between 1997 and 1998.
